The motif of the memorial is a panel divided along the designs of fractal geometry. The bronze panel opens into a tree crown at the top. This treetop comprises of sixty four prisms inscribed with numbers of academic Wichterle’s patents. The numbers are not only bearers of information but form a significant graphic element. The message of the numbers is explained in the inscription on the panel, translating as follows: “OTTO WICHTERLE PROMINENT CZECH SCIENTIST. The numbers of his patents are recorded in the crown of this sculpture.
