The atelier CASUA was founded in 1991 by Ales Podebrad, a civil engineer, and by the architect Oleg Haman. Their objective was to build an atelier which would not only offer their own architectural ideas, but also their construction solutions, and this way, it would offer complex services to their customers. It is now 25 years that this objective has been successfully reached and the Atelier CASUA implemented a lot of successful projects.

The range of the offer is wide. CASUA generates projects of residential buildings, apartments complexes, offices, sport and leisure facilities, transport facilities, factories and also conversions of industrial districts - brownfields. This list does not only include new buildings. Among those projects are also refurbishment of buildings which belong to cultural heritage. CASUA is present in the field of urbanism, territorial planning and treats also specialized analysis. The study on high rise buildings in Prague (Study on the visual integrity of Prague historic core) was a part of the City Hall development strategy plan and was valued by UNESCO and recommended for other cities in Europe, which struggle between the heritage preservation and the needs of modern town. The Atelier is also engaged in interior design and in the effect of artworks in public spaces, in cooperation with the academic sculptor Michal Gabriel.

The atelier CASUA is a member, since 2007, of the European architectural network Equator European Architects and has been a founding partner of the Czech Green Building Council . Apart from its own creations, CASUA is active in public life, where it shares its experience through lectures, workshops and conferences, and spreads the idea of a „green“ architecture. CASUA also supports the young generation of architects, and is the sponsor of the student’s contest „Oloveny Dusan“, where it offers, as the main price, a foreign internship.

Among the most interesting implementations of the atelier CASUA are the apartment and commercial complex Vinice (Prague), the refurbishment of the Palace Ries from Stallburg (Prague), the office building of the Czech Statistics Office, the refurbishment of a villa and the new building of an apartment house in Orechovka (Prague), the residential projects Green Town, the Residence Petriny and the Residence Orionka (all of them in Prague), the renovation and extension of the Airport in Bratislava (in cooperation with the company AGA letiste), and the industrial complex of the company Hennlich Industrietechnik (Litomerice).

Among the most recent projects are the luxury residence „Czech terraces“ (Almaty – Kazakhstan), the Master Plan of the City of Usti nad Labem, Park Malsovice – leisure activities park in Hradec Kralove and the Office Islands complex in Prague – Letnany for the company Hochtief Development Czech Republic, which obtained the pre-certification of the LEED Silver Certificate for suistanable buildings.
