Pelle’s Villa – Anderle Gallery
In 2001, the operation of the kindergarten was found to be unprofitable and terminated due to the lack of children. The building permit was issued in 2002 for a project developed by the CASUA architectural office. The main principle of the reconstruction was to return the house to the original spatial concept of the individual salons on the ground floor and first floor in favour of large exhibition spaces, even at the cost of removing some partitions from the first reconstruction in 1978.
Such a sensitively restored villa has been operated since 2003 by the non-profit company Pelléova vila, founded by the City District of Prague 6 and the Milada and Jiří Anderle Foundation. For more than ten years, the building served as a museum dedicated to paintings, graphics, drawings created during the sixty years of work of the important Czech artist and graphic artist Jiří Anderle, which was complemented by his collection of primitive African art.
