Research and development centre Hennlich

2011

The original warehouse and office building of the Hennlich Industrietechnik (HIT) company in Litoměřice was built based on a project of the CASUA studio in 2001. Since then the HIT company has successfully expanded, and required an additional building approximately double the size of the original one. A completion of the complex was designed as an extension of the existing warehouses and an addition of a new factory building with developmental and experimental departments. Both buildings are connected by a neck, which serves for loading and unloading of goods. From the eastern side, each factory building has a adjacent wing of offices and ancillary facilities. The company cafeteria, which serves also as a multifunctional hall is placed on the 3rd floor of the new office wing. Spacious roof terrace with a view of the Central Bohemian Highlands (České středohoří) is situated on the roof of the new building. Supporting structure is designed by a concrete frame and concrete or steel roof trusses. As with the original building, silver KINGSPAN panels in combination of dark green infill elements were used for the facade cladding of the extension. The new building is heated by heat pump in combination with capillary ceiling mats system. Construction of a baby club with an outdoor playground for small children of the employees demonstrates  friendly social policy of the company.
