Urban Project of the Year 2022
Jirásek Square in Kolín was awarded the title of Urban Project of the Year 2022. A total of 6 projects out of 16 submitted urban projects from all over the Czech Republic won the Urban Project of the Year 2022 award. The competition is traditionally announced by the Foundation for the Development of Architecture and Construction, together with the Ministry for Regional Development, the Association for Urban Planning and Spatial Planning of the Czech Republic, the Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers and Technicians Active in Construction and the Czech Union of Civil Engineers, and with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Our submitted project is dedicated to the planning study of Prachatice, Pod Cvrčkovem.
The results of the competition were announced and presented at a gala evening held at the ABF Foundation on 27 June 2022, hosted with refinement and wit by actor Tomáš Novotný. Nominations, the title, the People’s Choice Award and special prizes were awarded. The title holders received a unique symbolic crystal stamp designed by Rony Plesl from the Rückl glassworks. Currently, all projects are on display at the ABF Foundation Gallery, Wenceslas Square 31, Prague 1, until the end of September 2022, and the public will also be able to see them at the FOR ARCH 2022 fair and at the gala dinner 30 years of the Building of the Year – a recapitulation of 30 years of building and architecture in the Czech Republic, which will take place on 18 November 2022 in Prague’s Rudolfinum. During the year, you will also see them at many other events and venues across the Czech Republic. Congratulations to the winner and all the nominees!
