We are pleased to share with you our recent stay in Hamburg

08/06/2023

During our trip we explored the city and experienced many interesting activities. Here is an overview of our programme.

Thursday: We arrived in Hamburg by train and checked into our hotel. In the evening, we enjoyed a free program in small groups and took a walking tour of the city, which took us to the Reeperbahn, a popular district for nightlife.

Friday: Our tour continued through the administrative part of the city where we admired the architecture of buildings such as the Chilehaus, Afrikahaus, Zurich-Haus and Asiahaus. We also visited the Speicherstadt, the Jan Fedder promenade and walked through the Elb tunnel. During lunch we enjoyed a traditional German pizza. We spent the afternoon walking around the Philharmonie and took a cruise on the Louisiana Star, which gave us a new perspective of Hamburg. In the evening we walked through the new Altona Alstadt neighborhood, which used to be a brownfield. At the end of the day we enjoyed sitting together and sampling currywurst and fish sandwiches.

Saturday: a guided walk by Guiding Architects took us to Hafen City, a modern urban district built on a former harbour. Here we admired the Elb Tower and stopped at the light boxes at the Hafen City Universität stop. We ended our tour at the Der Spiegel building. After a busy day, we relaxed in the gardens in the city centre where we enjoyed a traditional schnitzel and a good beer. In the evening we moved on to the hostels where we enjoyed a great party with a DJ.

Sunday: Some of us decided to visit the Fish Market while others joined the train departure.
